Woman killed in two-car accident at King Hill
A King Hill woman was killed and her young daughter taken by LifeFlight to Boise following a two-car accident on Highway 30 Saturday.
The accident occurred at roughly 9:10 a.m. when, according to eyewitnesses, a white 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, being driven by Vincent Porter, 96, another King Hill resident, stopped at the stop sign on Montgomery Road and then proceeded onto the old Highway 30, striking the 2003 Chevy Trailblazer driven by a woman identified by Idaho State Police as Maria Salazar, 46, of King Hill. She is more commonly known in the King Hill and Glenns Ferry area as Teresa Salazar.
The SUV rolled several times down the road, eyewitnesses said, and came to rest on its tires. Salazar and her 9-year-old daughter were both thrown from the vehicle. Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The young girl's condition is believed to be critical. She was taken by air ambulance from the scene. Initially she was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise and later taken to Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Porter, who was the only one of the three wearing a seat belt, was taken initially by ambulance to Elmore Medical Center. His condition was not released.
Idaho State Police continue to investigate the accident.
