Cherrie L. Burton-Burnett, 69, of Grand View passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. A celebration of her life and dinner was held at the Grand View Senior Center on April 11, 2012. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Cherrie was born July 24, 1942, in Copeland, Idaho, the daughter of Glen and Veda Fahey. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1960.

She married Kenne Burton on June 15, 1961, in Caldwell. In 1968, Kenne and Cherrie purchased the farm where they raised their four kids. Cherrie started college in 1981. She graduated from Spokane Community College with an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Management.

Cherrie married Jim Burnett on Feb. 11, 1985. In 2008, Jim and Cherrie sold the farm and moved to Grand View, where it was warmer. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and later her great-granddaughter, Paige the Rascal. Cherrie has many hobbies, including fishing, camping, reading true crime, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, gardening and oil painting.

Cherrie is survived by her husband, Jim Burnett of Grand View; her children: Glennie (Brian) Powell of Nampa; Shawna (Ron) Ridley of Grand View; Shane (Tami) Burton of Spokane, Wash.; and Christie Burton-Hart-Otis of Orchards, Wash.; as well as her stepchildren Bill (Becky) Burnett, Cindy (Michael) Eirls, Jeremy Burnett; her sisters, Judy Robbins (Harold) of Sprit Lake, Idaho; Sue Koetje (Jan) of Boise; her grandchildren Cyndi (Anthony), Robynn, Jayme, Krystal, Cody, Kendall, Jessi, Bodee, Jake, Jaecynn and Joey and her great-granddaughter Paige along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Burton, and both of her parents.
