He was born April 25, 1929, in Mill City, Ore..

Joe proudly served his country during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam while in the Army and Air Force, finally retiring in Mountain Home in 1969. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in the Civil Engineering Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Joe especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was an active member of both the Elks and the American Legion.

Our favorite poem to memorialize him:

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide;
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

At his request, there will be no services. If you wish to make a donation in his name, please donate to any charity of your choice.
