Brett Turner

Brett Guy Turner, 49, was born June 7, 1962. Brett passed away peacefully at home, with his loving wife by his side and family members nearby, on Sept. 3, 2011. He was born in Glasgow, Mont., to Keith and Lila Turner, the eighth of ten children. In 1968, his family moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, where they enjoyed picnicking, fishing, camping and playing together in the outdoors. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1981.

Brett then moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, to pursue a career as an electrician, eventually becoming a journeyman. There, in 1982, he met his soulmate, Wendy Lee Hirschi. Brett and Wendy quickly became best friends and were inseparable because they found they had everything in common and a love that was eternal. They shared the same passions for Harley's, camping, four-wheeling, hunting, collecting guns and coins, and caring for their beloved dogs. They were married July 7, 1990, in Twin Falls. The strength of their love helped Brett and Wendy overcome the many trials life had for them.

Brett worked at Crumrine Electric, where he developed many close friendships with his fellow co-workers. Brett had a talent and passion for creating, building, and repairing anything and everything. Put a tool in his hand and he knew how to use it, from mechanics to wood to metal. Brett had a big heart that emulated his parents' traits of generosity and kindness. He was always helping out family, friends, and even strangers, with anything they needed, day or night. He loved and cherished his whole family. His nieces and nephews brought him great joy, especially when he was teasing them.

Brett is survived by: his wife, Wendy, and their three dogs, Jake, Tater and Squirt; by his nine siblings, Nadine (Mike) Rice, Nancy Turner, Jim and (Linda) Turner, Rick and (Marta) Turner, Ray Turner, Gregg and (Sue) Turner, Nedra Rainer, Lynette Turner, and Lori and (Roger) Brauner; his father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Glenna Hirschi; brothers- and sisters-in-law Guy and (Deborah) Hirschi, Stephanie and (Gene) Larsen, Kendra and (Lynn) Hemmert; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Brett was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Lila Turner.

A celebration of Brett's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls.

It was Brett's wish that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brett Turner Memorial Fund, at any Key Bank in Twin Falls. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.
