Bernard "Red" Crayne, 81, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at a Las Vegas, Nev., hospital.

Per his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Red was born on May 5, 1930, in Jerome, the son of Franklin and Ruth (Brown) Crayne.

On Dec. 12, 1952, he married Joyce Freeman.

He retired from the US Air Force after 29 years of service as a chief master sergeant.

He was a member the Idaho High Desert Travelers RV Club and was an active bowler.

Red is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce, of Mountain Home, his sons, Bryne of Boise, Gary and his wife, Gail, of Florida, Randy and his wife, Cindy, of Boise, Shawn and his wife, Rene of Sagle, Idaho, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
