Marsha I. MacMillan, 50, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 4, at the American Legion Hall, Post 26, in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Marsha was born on Oct. 15, 1960, in Boise, to Ron and Sharon Hoffman. She was the second of three daughters. Later the family moved to Careywood, Idaho, where Marsha graduated from Sandpoint High School.

Marsha spent her early years helping her parents with the animals and chores on the family smallholding. She knew the different breeds of livestock and how to care for them. She also learned how to grow and preserve different vegetables, and gardening became one of her favorite hobbies.

Marsha had two sons, Howard and Joe. Marsha and the two boys were living in Boise when she met Steve, the love of her life. Steve had two sons, Wesley and James, and a stepdaughter, Zoe.

Steve and Marsha were married on July 29, 1995, at the home of Steve's father, Charles Albert Lucas of Grand View.

In the same year, Steve and Marsha bought a house in Mountain Home, which they made a home and raised the boys.

Marsha spent 14 years working at Micron.

In 2001, tragedy struck with the death of Howard.

Marsha worked for the Teton Valley Ranch Potato Factory in Mountain Home, where she spent many happy days and was made a supervisor.

Marsha was happy, warm and friendly. She enjoyed getting together with friends and participating at the events at The Sunset Bar, especially the "Perch Jerk" fishing tournament.

Marsha enjoyed gardening and crocheting prayer shawls but the supreme joy of her life was her grandchildren.

Marsha is survived by her husband, Steve MacMillan, of Mountain Home, her parents, Ron and Sharon Hoffman, of Careywood, her children, Joe, Wesley and James, her grandchildren, Madison, Brody, Landon, and Moss, her sisters, Jerry, and Dotty, and countless friends.
