Tony Santy, 84, of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at a local care center.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 4-7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday March 11, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

Tony was born June 12, 1926, in Greenville, Texas, to Kings and Theresa Santy.

He grew up in Texas working in the oil fields and moved to Mountain Home in 1973, where he started a new chapter in his life.

On Sept. 19, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nev., Tony married Helen and together they raised five children.

Tony worked for Hiddleston Drilling and Pump for over 30 years. He was dedicated to his job and loved working every day.

He enjoyed listening to country music and watching western movies. He loved horses and was a cowboy at heart. He also loved to travel.

You could say Tony was blessed with special relationships in his life. On behalf of Tony and his family, we would like to give special thanks to: Doc, Iona, Ron and Marvelene Hiddleston for giving Tony roots and a place to call home.

Tony is survived by his wife, Helen Santy, of Mountain Home, his sons, John of Mountain Home, Kings and his wife, Christy, of Nampa, David of Texas and Issac of California, his daughter, Alice Cuevas, of California, his sisters, Juanita Adkins of Louisiana, Josephine Clark of Oklahoma and Syble Markin of Texas, his brother, Isaac Santy, of Colorado, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Sandra Santy and Teddy Mendez, and brother Leno Santy.
