Linda Dutton

Linda Dutton passed away surrounded by family and friends March 25, 2010 of throat cancer.

She was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Linda was born in Nampa, Idaho, to parents Vina and James Lowe, on Aug. 31, 1941.

She grew up in Idaho and graduated from Mountain Home High School.

Linda married Jim Dutton and had daughters, Michele and Myra.

She worked at Pacific Finance before becoming a teacher.

Linda joined the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority where she met many dear friends. Linda also became close friends with her fellow Elkettes from the Mountain Home BPOE.

Linda later returned to school and earned her bacheloršs and masteršs degrees in education from Boise State University. As a teacher, she taught middle school and high school. Linda really enjoyed her experience as a teacher for adult education and ESL programs in both in Boise, Idaho, and also in Oceanside and Vista, Calif.

In addition, Linda worked as a teacher at the Idaho State Penitentiary.

Linda loved playing card games and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildrenšs soccer games and spending time at her swimming pool with family and friends. Linda liked to cook, can and bake foods and treats to share. She also enjoyed planning trips and traveling with friends.

An independent free spirit, Linda, touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a great friend, beloved mother and Nana, who always accepted people just as they were.

Linda was a lover of animals, especially Daisy, her well-loved Bichon, and her friendšs dog, Molly, who was with her until the end.

As a life-long learner, Linda requested that her body be donated to the UCSD Body Donation Program with the hope that future lives may be saved through her gift.

Linda is survived by daughter and son-in-law Michele and Mark Chavez, granddaughter Graciela and grandson Antonio, and daughter and son-in law Myra and Thomas Kellett and granddaughters Tasha, Maggie, and Tori.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marlene and Myra, parents Vina and Jim, and husbands Jim Dutton and Duane Cheatham.

Michele and Myra would like to thank one of Lindašs best friends, Donna Hardiman, for traveling to California to help care for Linda during her chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Her help and support was invaluable.

They would also like to thank Shirley Spencer, another close friend she met in Boise, who also traveled to California to help with her care.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at San Luis Rey Mobile Home Park Clubhouse #2 at 200 N. El Camino Real, Oceanside, Calif., starting at noon.

Linda loved a good party and at her request, her daughters and their families would like to invite all who knew and loved her to join them for a memorial followed by food, drinks, and music!
