Harry Perry, Jr.

Harry Perry, Jr., 74, US Air Force retired, passed away on Jan. 23, 2010, of natural causes, at his home in Mountain Home.

No local services are planned. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Harry was born in Wilson, Ark., on Jan. 6, 1936, to Harry Perry, Sr. and Sallie M. Perry.

He spent his childhood in Wilson. He attended Wilson Trade School and upon graduating, enlisted in the US Air Force.

Harry had many assignments that took him around the world. In his regular tours of duty, he served in Greenland, Hawaii, Philippines, New Mexico and Mountain Home AFB. He was also a 1957 Air Force Tops and Blues winner and toured the south pacific. He retired from the Air Force in 1976.

Harry married Bobbye Louise Payne of Okolona, Ark., in 1955, which ended in divorce in1983. Together they had six children: Glenda, Kelvin, Karen, Michael, Brenda and Linda. He had six grandchildren.

After his retirement from the Air Force, Harry attended Boise Junior College and Boise State University where he received his degree in communications. Harry owned and operated Design and Painting for a number of years, and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until an accident on the job forced him into early retirement.

In 1995 he married Judith Fletcher, which ended in divorce.

An accomplished musician he loved to play the guitar and sing, and spent many years performing until health issues forced him to quit. Years later he would find a song within him and sang at his youngest son Michaelšs wedding.

An accomplished artist, he painted and drew in his spare time.

Harry is survived by his sons, Kelvin, of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Michael, of Chantilly, Va., and his daughters, Glenda, of Bruneau, Idaho, Karen of Cibolo, Texas, Brenda, of Chantilly, Va., and Linda, of Huntsville, Ala.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Perry, Sr. and Sallie Mae Perry.
