Manuel Palomin

Manuel L. Palomin, 66, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at a Boise hospital.

A viewing will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. rosary on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Manuel was born on March 1, 1943, the second of six children to Felipe and Maria Palomin in McAllen, Texas.

He came to Mountain Home in 1963 and started doing farm labor on several different farms. Manuel later worked for Simplot until he retired due to an accident.

Manuel enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, listening to music and dancing. He loved family gatherings.

Manuel is survived by his sisters Paula Castro and Josefa Palomin both of Mountain Home, his sister in-law Juana Palomin of Lockney, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Oscar Palomin, two sisters, Maria Guadalupe Pacheco and Gloria Gonzales, and his niece, Amparo P. Mejia.
