Betty Davison

Betty May Davison, 83, of Mountain Home and Prairie, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at her home in Mountain Home.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial will be held at the Prairie Cemetery, in Prairie, today, Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m.

Betty was born on May 17, 1925, in Boise, the daughter of Homer and Bessie Jarvis. She was schooled in Boise and graduated from Boise High School.

She attended Boise Junior College for one year and then the College of Idaho for half a year.

She married D. Louis Davison on Jan. 20, 1945, and together they settled in Prairie. In 1970 they purchased a home in Mountain Home to spend the winters. Donald died in 1987.

Betty was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Guiding Star Rebekah Lodge #4. She served as state secretary for the Rebekahs from 1995 to 2000. She was also a member of the DAV Auxiliary, where she enjoyed driving the vets to the Boise Veterans Hospital.

Her other hobbies including reading, quilting, crocheting, knitting, hand-held poker games and going to Jackpot, Nev.

Betty is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Wright of Rexburg, Charlotte Rippee of Wilder and Lois Clark of Mountain Home; her sons, Dean Davison of Prairie and Alvin Davison of Oregon; brother, Curtis Jarvis of Lewiston, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Louis, her daughter, Eileen, and her brother, Homer (Bud).
