Ida Mae Wilder, 81, of Chico, Calif., formerly of Mountain Home, died Jan. 10, 2009, in Chico.

Memorial services were held Jan. 16 at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Guthrie, Okla., to Howard and Hattie Long.

She married her husband, Marvin L. Wilder, on June 10, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Relocating to Idaho in 1946, they raised their family in the Boise and Pocatello areas.

The couple moved to New Mexico in 1963 where Ida Mae began a career in civil service. In the early 1970s they returned to Idaho where Ida retired as head of medical records at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

They moved to Chico in 2007 to be close to and be supported by their family.

"Ida loved the outdoors and spent many days of her life rock hunting, fishing, and hunting. She and Marvin loved to dance and often the crowd would clear the floor to watch them dance to Cotton Eyed Joe," her family said.

Ida Mae is survived by: her husband of 64 years, Marvin Wilder; her son and his wife, J.W. and Irena Wilder of Salida, Colo.; her daughter, Sherry, and her husband, Marc Wilson, of Chico; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
