Earl L. Madison, 45, of Mountain Home, died near Bruneau on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008.

A viewing was held on Sunday, Nov.9, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, and again on Monday, Nov. l0. Funeral services took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mountain Home. A graveside service followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.

Earl was born in Mountain Home on Dec. 28, 1962, the son of Lewis Gary and Marian Ruth Madison. He was raised in Mountain Home and graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1981.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission he moved to Farmington, N.M., and worked as a stone mason. He later moved to Tucson, Ariz., where he worked as a roofer and a stone mason. It was there that he met Tonya Lynn Grice. They married on Nov. 17, 1989.

The family moved to Pueblo, Colo., where Earl worked as a welder, crane operator and a tree trimmer.

In 1995, EarI, Tonya and the children moved to Mountain Home where Earl ran Madison's Masonry. He also worked at Master Electric, while completing a four-year apprenticeship program at BSU.

He and Tonya also did a large motor route for the Idaho Statesman for 4-years.

Earl also recently worked with his brother, Roy, in Utah as a stone mason.

"Earl will be remembered most for his fun-loving personality and his contagious smile," his family said. "Those who knew him best will remember him for the compassion he had for his family and fellow man. Earl's love, over the years, was made manifest by kind acts of service he was willing to give, even near the time of his death."

Earl is survived by: his wife, Tonya Madison; his son, Dustin Grice of Three Creek; his daughter, Aprile Thornsberry of Mountain Home; his daughter, Laura Madison of Boise; his son, Vince Thornsberry of Hollister; three grandchildren; his mother, Marian Madison of Mountain Home; his brothers, Carl Madison of Idaho, Roy Madison of Utah, Vern Madison of Oregon, Kenneth Madison of Boise and David Madison of Montana, and his sisters Marie Jones of New Mexico and Joan Lattin of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis, his brother, Ronnie, and his granddaughter, Grace Lynn Thornsberry.
