Harley "Red" Eugene Crawshaw, 62, died Nov. 5, 2008, in a Salt Lake City Hospital.

It was his wish to be cremated. Services will be held at a later date in Salmon, Idaho.

Harley was born June 30, 1946, in Salmon, to Charles "Tex" Eugene and Louise Maxine Crawshaw. He was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Salmon High School in May 1964.

He married his high school sweetheart, Millie Mathews, on Nov. 28, 1964. Together they had four children, Bill, Brian, Connie and Sam. After 10 years of marriage, they divorced and Harley married Hazel on Dec. 12, 1977. They had two children, Albert and Valerie Jean. They divorced on Sept. 6, 1988. He had a brief marriage to Carole before meeting and marrying Sharon in 1990, whom he spent the rest of his years with, in Salt Lake City.

Harley had various jobs during his lifetime, though most of the time was spent traveling around the country as a long-haul truck driver. He also worked as a bartender at Rocky's, a driver for a tire shop in Glenns Ferry and occasionally on a potato digger during harvest.

"Harley was known for his story telling, jokes, whistling, infectious laughter and love for his family," his family said. "If you ever needed cheering up, all you had to do was go and see Harley."

He spent many summer weekends in the hills with his family, cutting wood and fishing.

Harley is survived by: his wife, Sharon, of Salt Lake City; a sister, Rosalie Hawley, and a brother, Alfred Crawshaw, of Salmon, Idaho; his children, Bill (Casey) Crawshaw of Emmett, Brian (Connie) Crawshaw and Connie (Juan) Morin of Glenns Ferry, Albert (Jeaneen) Crawshaw of Tacoma, Wash., and Sam Crawshaw (Kevin Rocek) of Florence, Mont.; 11 grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill, a sister, Mary-Alice, and his daughter, Valerie Jean.
