Andrea Lynn (Hinton) Oakland, 46, of Mountain Home, died at home of natural causes in Mountain Home, on Sept. 24, 2008.

Memorial services will be held today, Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Chapel Rost Funeral Home.

Andrea was born on July 15, 1962, in Buchenbeuren, West Germany. She was the third of four children. She moved to the United States at the age of one, where she soon became a big sister to her only brother while living in Fairfield, Calif. While her father served in Vietnam, Andrea attended kindergarten at the Green Acres Baptist Church Academy in Tyler, Texas.

The family moved to Burns Flat, Okla., where she began first grade. In January 1970, Andrea moved to Idaho where she graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1980.

She attended Boise State University and graduated from ITT.

Andrea was employed by the Federal Civil Service until 2007.

She worked for Deer Creek Lodge in Pine until her death.

"Andrea enriched the life of each person she met," her family said. "Her commitment to her family and friends knew no limit. She was devoted to ensuring that other people were cared for always.

"Andrea loved animals, music and was forever awed by the majestic beauty of her beloved Trinity Mountains."

Andrea is survived by: her parents, M.D. and Lawanda Hinton of Mountain Home; her sisters, Sharon and her husband, Jim Hamilton of Alamogordo, N.M., an d Cynthia Hinton of Houston, Texas; her brother, Daryl, and his wife, Dorothy Hinton of Mountain Home, several nephews, uncles, an aunt and several cousins.
