Joe C. Adcock, 90, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the home of his daughter, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Inurnment will follow at the Zion Cemetery in Lincoln, Ill., July 10.

Joe was born May 12, 1918, in Waynesville, Ill., to Joseph C. Adcock, Sr. and Etta Ethel Craft. He graduated from Kinney High School, Kinney, Ill., in 1936.

Joe grew up helping his dad on the farm in Illinois.

Joe married Mary Josephine Razer of Wabash, Ind., in Selma, Ind., on Dec. 17, 1939. They were married 60 years. She preceded him in death.

After Joe and Mary were married they farmed together in Lincoln, Ill.. To supplement the farm income, Joe worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) Company.

Joe retired from farming, but continued to work for PPG and moved to town (Lincoln) in 1965 and remained there until October 1982.

He retired from PPG in 1982 and moved to Mountain Home, to enjoy the climate and be near his daughter.

"He lived life to the fullest, enjoying the love of his family, the great hunting and fishing of Idaho, and his many friendships," his family said.

Joe is survived by: two children, daughter Janet Boss (Jim Greene) of Boise, and son Edwin Adcock, Sr. (Barb) of New Brockton, Ala.; two brothers, John H. (Velna) of McKinney, Texas, and Robert F. of Clinton, Ill.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, one daughter, Juanita Jean, and a great-great granddaughter, Kenya.
