Arleen Elizabeth Powell, 73, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at a local hospital.

No services are planned at this time.

Arleen was born on Nov. 5, 1934, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Chester and Helma Erickson. She grew up in Sherwood, Ore., and lived in the Portland area until the mid-1980s.

She enjoyed many things in life. She participated in various choirs, watching all sports, spending time with her family at the Oregon Coast and at the old Fall Creek Lodge at Anderson Ranch Reservoir. She had a special place in her heart for animals, her family said.

Arleen is survived by: her husband, Carlos Powell of Mountain Home; her daughters, Janet Henson of Mountain Home, Donna Coblet and Laurie Long, both of Portland, and Theresa Bengtson of Salem; her stepsons, Mark Warner and Bryan Warner, both of Washington state, Ed Powell of Alaska, Bill Powell of California, Mike Powell of Boise, and her step-daughter, Connie, and her husband, Ron Jacobsen, of Boise, 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her two sisters, Donna Forrell of Lake Oswego, Ore., and LaRae Koontz of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Strickler, her second husband, Tom Warner, and a great-grandson, Dustin McClure.
