George M. Stepp, 76, of Bruneau, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at his home.

Services are to be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

George was born on Nov. 27, 1930, in New Kensington, Pa., to George and Lola Stepp. He was schooled in Scranton, Pa.. He worked as a chef cooking in many restaurants in several large national parks.

George met and married Betty West in Three Rivers, Calif., in 1967. They moved to Oregon and owned the George Restaurant and Lounge in Prospect, Ore.. They later sold the business and moved to Bruneau to be closer to their daughter.

George is survived by: his daughter, Penny, and her husband, Gary Jones ,of Bruneau; his daughter, Sue, and her husband, Bernie Feldman, of California; his son, Jerry, and his wife, Roxanne West, of California; his son, Tom, and his wife ,Hannah West, of Oregon; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and friend Norma Jarvey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and both parents.
