Dorothy Mae Strough, 84, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at a care center in Boise.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.

Dorothy was born April 21, 1922, in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of William and Thelma Hudson.

She graduated from high school in Palestine and enjoyed working in a local shoe store.

Dorothy met her husband, Carlton Strough, while he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Palestine. Together they traveled with the military stateside and overseas.

For a while in Texas she taught Sunday School.

Dorothy was a devoted military wife and homemaker for over 30 years while Carlton served his country, her family noted.

Dorothy and Carlton raised two sons and a daughter. They came to Mountain Home around 1970 and Dorothy worked at the Mountain Home Public Library.

Dorothy was an active auxiliary member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Eastern Star, serving in all capacities statewide.

Dorothy is survived by: her son, David and his wife, Cathy Strough; daughter Robyn Strough, and three grandchildren, all of Boise.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton, one son, two sisters and one brother.
