Wesley "Wes" Theodore Jetley, 76, died at home in Mountain Home on June 21, 2005, after an extended illness from COPD.

He formerly lived for many years in Burns and Bend, Ore.

Graveside services were held Friday, June 24, at Burns Cemetery in Burns, Ore. Arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Wes was born June 1, 1929, in Burns, Ore., to Arthur Christian Lee and Margaret Jennie (Welcome) Jetley, the older of two children.

He was in the US Navy from 1948-51 as a Navy Corpsman, attaining the rank of Hospital Corpsman Second Class, and was attached to the US Marine Corps the last year.

He attended Eastern Oregon Junior College (EOU) in La Grande, Ore., for two years, and graduated from Oregon Technical Institute (OIT) in 1956 with a Degree in Medical Technology, at Klamath Falls, Ore.

Wes married Mildred Marie Covey, Sept. 16, 1956, in Dufur, Ore. They resided in Burns where he worked at the Harney County Hospital 1 1/2 years, then at the Burns Clinic as a lab and X-ray technician until October 1970.

He attended Oregon Polytechnic Institute in Portland, receiving a diploma as a Refrigeration Technician in February 1971, and was self-employed in the refrigeration and saw filing business in Burns from 1971 until August 1983, when he retired, and they moved to Bend, with fishing as his main hobby.

Wes and Marie moved to Mountain Home at the end of 2000 to be closer to their two sons and families.

Wes was an Endowment Member of the National Rifle Association; Life member of the Masonic Robert Burns Lodge No. 97 for 46 years, Member of the Elks Lodge #1680 for 54 years and a Member of the American Legion.

Wes is survived by: his wife, Marie, of 48 years, and two sons, Justin (Connie) and Jason (Jane); 4 grandchildren, Monica (Jeremy) of Boise, Melissa, Shane and Melinda; two great-grandchildren; sister Karen Howell, La Grande, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests no flowers, but suggests memorials may be made to Life's Doors Hospice, 290 S. 2nd East St., Mountain Home, ID 83647.
