Victora Pehlke, 14

Victora Renee Pehlke, 14, died Dec. 23, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer since June.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Victora was born Nov. 24, 1990, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Linda Pehlke. She was the oldest of two children.

During Christmas of 1992 Victora went with her mother and brother to live with her grandfather. They were living with her grandfather at the time of her mother's death in 1996. At the time of her death, their grandfather raised both Victora and her brother.

Victora enjoyed many things in life such as going to races with her grandfather, traveling, spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. She also enjoyed activities such as cheerleading, reading, scrap booking and for a time was active in Girl Scouts.

Victora was looking forward to starting the school year at the junior high, but due to her illness was unable to attend school this year, her family said, adding, "she will be missed by her many friends at school who remember Victora as a friend to everyone, a good friend you could talk to, someone who never said anything bad about anyone else, and a girl with a really big heart."

Victora is survived by: her grandfather, Albert Pehlke; her brother, Casey Pehlke of Mountain Home; grandmother Mareitha (Cliff) Hodgins of Emmett, and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Pehlke.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Mountain States Tumor Institute in, Boise.
