Daniel Lee Alexander, 33, of Mountain Home, died suddenly, Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services were held, Monday, Dec. 13, at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery. A celebration (wake) of Danny's life was held at the home of Andrea and Claire White of Mountain Home.

Danny was born Nov. 4, 1971, at Beale AFB, Calif., to Candace and Gene Alexander. He was the little brother of Billie. They were always great play mates, his family said.

His parents moved to Michigan and later back to Yreka, Calif., until his father joined the Air Force once again. They moved to Davis Monthan AFB, Ariz., where he started school on the base. His parents later divorced and his mother met and married his dad, Randy Jordan. They transferred to RAF Bentwaters, England, where Danny had a keen interest in sports. He started playing soccer and baseball, and had a special talent for both.

After three years his parents moved back to Davis Montham AFB where he continued playing soccer and baseball.

It was in 1982 that he and his brothers, Billie and Jeremy, and sister, Erin, started spending summers with his maternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles. Danny had a special relationship with his Uncle John. He learned logging and could operate a skidder by age 12. Those were his fondest memories, his family said.

His parents moved to Mountain Home AFB, where he attended base schools and Mountain Home schools. He continued playing soccer.

His daughter, Katie Marie, was born Dec. 20, 1990, and he settled down to raise his daughter. He married Ann Hemmert, Dec. 28, 1996, and of that union his son, Derrick Lee, was born, Jan. 29, 1998. Danny and Ann later divorced and he moved back Mountain Home.

Danny had a special bond with his niece, Jordan, and nephew, Tyler Remington. They shared many hours together when he was home from work. "Danny had great patience and love with them. Always known for being kind, thoughtful and generous, he shared himself with those he loved," his family said. "Danny loved hunting and fishing with his Dad and Uncle John."

At the time of his death he was driving semis for Crete Carriers, based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Danny is survived by: his children, Katie Marie of North Carolina and Derrick Lee of Pocatello; his parents, Gene Alexander, mother Candy Jordan and dad Randy Jordan; his brothers, Bill and Jeremy Alexander; his sister, Erin Remington; his maternal grandparents, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Alexander, and his other grandfather, Robert Jordan.
