Lynn G. Sherman, 83, of King Hill, died June 26, 2004, at his home in King Hill, surrounded by his family.

An informal memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, July 1, at 5 p.m. at the Veterans Hall. Family members are inviting all his friends to join them to share in a pot luck dinner and a time to share memories and stories from his life. In lieu of flowers, they ask that donations be sent to a favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Lynn was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Dietrich, Idaho, to George and Emmaline (Roush) Sherman. That year the family moved to the Glenns Ferry area.

Lynn attended school in Glenns Ferry and King Hill and lived in Elmore County most of his life.

On July 12, 1953, Lynn married Audrey McMillan in King Hill, where they resided until his death. They had three children, Tamara Sherman Shenk, Kevin Sherman, and Robin Sherman.

Lynn managed the Co-op in Glenns Ferry for 33 years, was Justice of the Peace for the Port of Entry in King Hill and was the Secretary for the King Hill Irrigation district for many years.

Lynn retired in 1980 to spend time in his garden, enjoy his grandchildren, and a little extra fishing at the cabin on Grouse Creek.

"Dad would sit for hours on the lake waiting for 'just one more'," his family said. "Camping and time at the cabin created many special memories for Lynn, with the many friends who always stopped by to exchange fish stories."

He is survived by: his wife Audrey, of 51 years; his children, Tamara and Kevin; his three sisters, Dorothy Doyle, Olive Furhman, and Ellen Simpson; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robin, two brothers, Elbert and Jack, and two sisters, Grace Stokes and Irene Love.
