Paul M. Potter, 74, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, in Mountain Home.

No public services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel of Mountain Home.

Paul was born on April 28, 1929, in Westfield, PA the son of Delbert and Mabel (Quickenbush) Potter. The family moved to Elmira, N.Y., when he was a young boy.

He went on to serve two years in the Army during the Korean War. He returned to New York where he became a sheet metal worker until retirement. During that time he also owned a successful furniture business.

In 1999, he moved west to be close to his daughter, Paula, and her family. He went on to reside at Cedar Crest Assisted Living.

Paul is survived by: his daughter Paula and her husband, Richard; daughter Roxanna Bennett; two stepsons and their wives, Bruce and Judy Hayes and Martin and Bonnie Hayes all of Elmira, N.Y.; sister Pauline Travis of Florida; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his longtime love, Wanda P. Hayes, two sisters and a brother.
