Irene Green Williamson, 87, died April 22, 2003.

Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, April 26, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were by Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.

She was born in DeQueen, Ark., on Jan. 22, 1916. She was the middle child of Robert (Burt) Green and Nodie Morgan Green. She grew up in Ogden, Utah, with her two sisters.

It was on a blind date arranged by her friends that she met Jim Williamson. The romance lasted over 50 years. She and her husband moved to Mountain Home to begin a new business and start family life, where both flourished.

She was the bookkeeper for the business, O.K. Tire, for over 35 years.

As a young mother she stayed home until the kids went to school. She did the books at night. Gardening, canning, and cooking for her brood kept her busy. She was a Scout den mother for her son, Bob, and a Brownie leader for her daughter, Elaine. "What great times they were," her children said. " If we were doing something wrong we could look up and see our mother standing there. Not much got by her. She was the best mother anyone could ever have."

She was active in her church and also the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron from 1961-1962. After 35 years in business they sold the business to Les Schwab and retired to Twin Falls for 10 years. Her husband died in 1991 and she moved to Boise to be near her daughter. She is survived by: her son, Bob Williamson of Lewisville, N.C.; her daughter, Elaine and her husband, Wayne Finch, of Boise; one grandson; one granddaughter; sister Pauline Wycoff; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, and her brother-in-laws, Ralph Ahlberg and Harold Wycoff. Memorials may be made in her name to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Fairfax Avenue & Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
