Patricia "Patti" Ann Embrey, 66, of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at a Boise hospital, after a brief battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Patti was born Patricia Ann Key on April 2, 1946, to Oda and Thedis Key in Ephrata, Wash. She was the fifth of ten children. Patti grew up in Grangeville, Idaho and she had many close friends, some of which she continued their friendships to her last days.

At the age of 18, Patti fell in love with and married her soulmate, George Drapper Embrey of Irving, Texas. Patti and George embarked on their 40-year journey of fun, travel and adventure and raising three children.

Patti and George settled in Mountain Home in 1996 after raising their children. Patti's love for family and the people in her community showed in selfless service as a caregiver, even after the loss of her husband and best friend in 2004.

Patti was truly an angel of compassion to her family and her community.

Patti is survived by her three children, George Embrey of Wisconsin, Christine Embrey of Virginia and Janet McCain of Mountain Home, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George.
