Bruce W. Lord, 67, passed away Dec. 25, 2012, at home after battling a long illness.

He was born to Oliver and Maxine Lord on March 13, 1945.

Bruce spent his younger years on the ranch at Mayfield, Idaho, where his family farmed and raised cattle. Bruce loved to be on the farm equipment. He went to a one-room school in Mayfield for the first eight years of his schooling. He was always the head of his class. He was the only one in his grade. The family moved on to Mountain Home for high school.

He married and gained a stepson, Mark, and then his son, Jared, was born.

He moved around some in the southeast, mostly working as a grocery store manager. Came back west to Lovelock, Nev., and worked as a produce manager and farmed. Finally, back to the Boise area, still working as a produce manager. He moved on to Carnation/Silcan until they closed, at which time he changed to local truck driver, retiring from West Coast Paper.

July 4, 1985, Bruce and Peggy Johnson married; enjoying family and traveling.

Bruce took pride in his garden and always grew way too many tomatoes. Co-workers were "blessed" with tomatoes whether they wanted them or not.

Survived by son Jared Lord, wife Shannon, stepson Mark Rigel, wife Jolene; stepdaughters Sandie Anderson; Teri Acree; brothers Erin Lord, wife Carleen and Richard Lord. Three granddaughters, one grandson and three great granddaughters. One great-grandson coming any day.

The family has placed their trust in Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel. A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho.
