City committee launches 'shop local' campaign

Sue Gross and Paula Riggs from the city's economic development office join representatives from the local DIG-IT committee as Mayor Tom Rist signs a proclamation declaring Dec. 1 as the start date for the "Shop Local for the Holidays" campaign.

Looking to encourage more people to shop in Mountain Home during the holiday season, a business development team here will launch an effort that offers new incentives for those that spend their dollars locally.

Scheduled to start Dec. 1, the "Shop Local for the Holidays" campaign represents the latest incentive unveiled by the local DIG-IT group -- an all-volunteer team affiliated with the city's economic development department.
