Al Reisinger

Bruce Alan "Al" Reisinger passed away peacefully at home Oct. 30, 2012, due to health complications caused by diabetes and COPD.

He was born to Paul and Mary Reisinger on Nov. 28, 1952, and was a proud native son of Mountain Home.

Al had a very happy childhood with his family, spending memorable summers at their cabin in Fall Creek. It is there that Al learned fishing, hunting and snow-riding skills that he used all his adult life.

After high school graduation, he worked for a time for Johnson Brothers Construction and Sawtooth Lumber. Then he became a Naval reservist.

Later, he worked for Ostercamp Roofing and in 1985 bought the business and became owner-operator of Reisinger Roofing.

Eventually health complications caused him to close shop and he spent the last years of his life in quiet, progressive pain.

Al raced professionally for SkiDoo Snowmobile Company, was a member of the Mountain Home Hawg Hunters Fishing Club and won the annual Sunset Bar's Perch Jerk fishing contest a record-setting six times.

An accomplished sportsman, Al lived to hunt and fish. He was very knowledgeable about the ways of wildlife in the Mountain Home and Trinity areas and guided many friends on successful hunting and fishing trips over the years.

Following in his father's footsteps, Al enjoyed gardening and sharing vegetables with friends. He would often sneak vegetable seeds into Merry's flower beds, much to his amusement. He loved cooking and made pies that were to die for.

Al had an especially witty, positive sense of humor and was well liked by the people who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Merry, son Pete (Barbara) of Albany, Ore., grandchildren Kyle and Allison, his brother Dale (Janice) of Emmett and several nieces and nephews. Al shared a special bond with his nephews Josh Reisinger (Grand View) and Jeff Goff (Emmett).

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Paula.

At his request, he was cremated.

Friends and relatives are invited to a military memorial service conducted by Mountain Home Post 26 at the American Legion Hall, 515 E. 2nd South St., on Monday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. Arrangements are by Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.
