Curtis Wayne Zahourek died Friday, July 27, 2012, as a result of a work-related accident in California.

Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel with a viewing from 9-10:45 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

He was born in Mountain Home, June 5, 1965, to Enid Janice and Charles Wesley Zahourek. He attended school in Mountain Home where football was his passion as a defensive end.

After graduating high school in 1984 he attended Lineman School at Boise State University and after completing the course, moved to California where he began working and had worked for 25 years.

Curtis was proud of his profession as a lineman and was conscientious in every climbing job he went out on. He was promoted to general foreman in 2011. He was an example to anyone that had the opportunity to work alongside him, as many men can attest to.

Curtis is survived by his mother, Enid Janice Zahourek of Mountain Home, brothers Alan Morris of Mountain Home, Kevin and his wife, Diane Zahourek, and niece Emma of Enumclaw, Wash., a sister, Velda and her husband, Doug Reed, of Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition, he is survived by his true love, Dawn Zahourek of Mountain Home, extended family in Mountain Home and his ever faithful dog, E.J., who he loved very much and who returned the love unconditionally. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and two aunts, Marilyn Stoddard of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and Kate Lobdell of Trinity, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Zahourek, and both sets of grandparents.
