Karl Martin Boyer, 60, of Mountain Home passed away Sunday night, April 1, 2012, after a long illness at a local care center. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard, Post #26.

Karl was born in Landsberg Lech, Germany, and came to the United States as a child. He spent his early years in Florida and later served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.

Karl worked as a civil engineer at Mountain Home Air Force Base until his retirement in 2009. He coached various sports teams for his children as well as teams on the base. He was involved with the Mountain Home Air Force Appreciation Day Fun Run for many years.

A friend and mentor to Jeremiah Saporta, Karl was an avid golfer, and rarely was the weather too inclement for game of golf. Karl could always be counted on to lend a hand when needed and was a trustworthy, dependable gentleman who was much respected by all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.
