June M. Meide, 73 of Mountain Home, passed on Feb. 28, 2012, in a Boise hospital. She and her husband, James, recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in January.

June is also survived by their three daughters, Constance Sauls-Wolf and Rita Meide of Mountain Home and Marilyn McCullough of Fredericksburg, Va., along with 11 grand-children, 12 great-grand-children and a brother, Donald Bergquist of Virginia, Minn.

June was born June 9, 1938, in St. Hilaire Minn., to John and Mildred (Favrow) Bergquist. She was the youngest of five children. She spent most of her childhood in Thief River Falls, Minn.

June Bergquist married James E. Meide in Hankinson, N.D. James spent 26 years in the Air Force, which allowed them the opportunity to live in many states and make life-long friends wherever they went. She was an avid bowler, bingo player, and active member of the NCO Wives Club at the many bases they lived.

June and Jim retired in Mountain Home. June had several close relatives who live in Mountain Home, and they visited her home almost daily. The door was always open, and she loved to spend time with anyone who came calling. She played Phase 10 with her nieces weekly and dice on Wednesday with other family members. June spent time reading and loved watching reruns of The Golden Girls.

June was a member of the local Idaho High Desert Travelers RV Club and enjoyed the many trips with her friends throughout the years. Her annual trips south in the winter and north in the summer to visit relatives and friends made her a very happy Snowbird.

June will be interred on March 5, 2012, in Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the El-Ada Food Bank or an alternate charity.
