Robert "Bobby" James Hansen, 82, of King Hill, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at a Boise hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11am, on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Glenns Ferry V.F.W. Hall. Inurnment will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mtn Home.

Bobby was born in San Francisco on August 13, 1929 and was raised by his grandmother, Celia Hall of King Hill. Bobby attended schools in King Hill and Glenns Ferry. Later, after serving in the military during the Korean War, he returned and under the GI Bill, he graduated with a degree in engineering from the University of Washington. Bobby worked as an engineer for Boeing and was also a lead engineer on several projects in the Portland area.

Bobby returned to King Hill and worked in farming. He never married and had no children. He spoke seriously about his military experiences which took him deep into North Korea during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Glenns Ferry V.F.W., Post 3646.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother and several step-uncles and cousins.
