Madeline Grace Halverson, 85, of Mountain Home, passed away on Nov. 10, 2011, at her home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Grace was born and raised in upper New York State. She loved music and writing. She met her husband Roscoe as a pen-pal during World War II and they were married in July of 1946.

With the military they traveled and then settled in Cheyenne, Wyo., in 1958, when Roscoe was stationed at the airbase there. Their only son John was born there in 1960.

In 1985, they moved to Mountain Home to be closer to John and his family. After Roscoe died in 1995, Grace used her spare time to bake cookies nearly every day.

Grace is survived by her son, John, and his wife, Beth, four grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Madeline and Joshua, a niece, Bernice Wunder, of New York, two nephews, Mark and Paul Wunder, a niece, Lola Dansereau, of Meridian and brother-in-law Don Halverson of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roscoe, two sisters and one brother.
