Lamont Edward White died at the age of 76 on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Wendell, Idaho.

A graveside service was held Jan. 5, 2011, at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Lamont, who was known as Monty to his friends and family, was born in 1934 in Boise, to Charlotte White and Edward Butts.

He lived in a children's home in Boise where he attended school until the age of 14.

He then went to live with his foster parents, Nathan and Leanna Miller, in Indian Cove, and finished school in Glenns Ferry.

He worked various jobs until he returned to Indian Cove to run the family farm.

During his life, he enjoyed singing, dancing and playing drums at the Trophy Club in Glenns Ferry.

He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Nathan and Leanna Miller, and his son, Shannon Bodie White.

He is survived by two daughters, Robin Phillips and Tina Gluch, two sons, Tony Michael White and Todd White, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
