LaMar "Louie" Goff, 75, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 15, 2010.

He is survived by a daughter, two sons, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

At the age of 17, LaMar joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany where he spent the majority of his three-year tour. He then spent several years in the Army Reserves.

LaMar went on to be a machinist at Air Research in Ohio. He enjoyed this job, but suspecting an unstable future in the company, he obtained a position at the postal service. LaMar spent his first couple of years as a letter carrier in Ohio and then he moved his wife and three children to Arizona.

LaMar enjoyed carrying and delivering mail and preferred to ride a bike, versus drive the mail jeep on his route.

After 27 years in the postal service, he retired. LaMar moved to Mountain Home in March of 2008 to live with his daughter. He spent the last two and half years of his life happily doting on his daughter.

The day LaMar went to be with the Lord, he was in no pain and his passing was peaceful. His daughter was by his side.

Thank you Daddy, for being the best dad I could have ever hoped for. I love you so much and I will miss you immensely.
