John "Big John" Knackert, 54, of Caldwell, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at a Boise hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

John was born on Feb. 27, 1956, to John and Pauline Knackert, in Burlingame, Calif.

No words can describe the man he was. No one who knew him will ever forget him. He touched many people's lives and never even knew it. He was good and strong and loved by all. He lived, he laughed, he loved. He rode hard, made some mistakes and rode on. He cracked jokes, had a kind heart, he always understood. Mostly he loved his family, made lifelong friendships and loved his Harley.

He is remembered by his wife, Candy, and her sons, Jason and Brandon, his children and their mother, Uriah, Marie, Michelle and Patti Hall, ten beautiful grandchildren, his father, John, his brother, David, and his family, and other numerous family members.

You remain with us forever dad. It will never be the same without you. We will remember you for what happened on the ride not for how it ended. See you on the other side, Bubba. Give 'em hell!
