Robert "Bob" L. Davis, 72, of Glenns Ferry, died Feb. 4, 2009, at his home.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Bob was born and raised in Texas.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and met his wife, Mary, while stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base. They married in 1957.

Bob worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a section foreman in many places along the Idaho Division. He retired in 1999 after 30 years of service.

Bob loved fishing and took great pride in his family and his home, his family said. "He deeply loved his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed."

Bob is survived by: his wife, Mary, of Glenns Ferry; his daughter, Roberta, and her husband, Tim ,of Utah; his son, Robert, and his wife, Elizabeth Davis, of Nebraska; his brothers, Jesse Davis and Thomas Davis, both of Texas; his sisters, Ruth Michael, Barbara Miller and Louise Ross, all of Texas, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents and one daughter, Catherine.
