Dana Pasto, 43, of Mountain Home, died peacefully at her home on Jan. 20, 2009.

Services are being planned later this week at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Dana was born into a military family on May 1, 1965, in Honolulu, Hawaii, at Hickam Air Force Base, to Levi and Janice DeVerney.

She graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson, Ariz., in 1983. She liked taking motorcycle road trips in college.

She married Thomas A. Pasto, Dec. 26, 1986, in Tucson. She was a military wife for 20 years, and lived in many places, such as Hawaii, Tucson, North Dakota and Spain. "Most her loyal friends for the last eight years are from the Mountain Home Air Force Base Commissary," her family said.

Dana loved baking, cooking, knitting, cross stich, collecting angels, country music and got to own her dream, a Chevy Camero. She was also a licensed cosmetologist.

"Dana always had a big heart, taking on other's troubles," her family said. "She was always taking in and helping friends, as well as animals; giving of herself to fault. She is dearly loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her."

Dana is survived by: her husband, Tom Pasto; her children, Colton Pasto, Mike DeVerney-Pasto, and her daughter, Marina Pasto, all of Mountain Home; her faither, Levi F. DeVerney of Tucson, Ariz.; her sister, Lori Sorrensen of New Mexico; her sister, Judy Ember of Arizona; and her brothers, Lon DeVerney and Levi DeVerney, both of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Lee DeVerney, in 1994.
