Grover Sibley

Grover "Sib" C. Sibley, 99, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at a local hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Sib retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the US Air Force in August of 1967 after serving in World War II and Vietnam. He later also retired from Civil Service at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Sib did many things. He was a barber, an auto mechanic, a handy man, and made stereos and televisions from scratch. He enjoyed his fifth-wheel trailer and spent many winters in Lake Havasu, Ariz. He enjoyed fishing on Anderson Ranch Reservoir in his boat and deer hunting in the Featherville area. He was an accomplished musician and played the accordion in a band.

He was a member of the Red Rock Christian Church in Boise, a Master Mason, a member of the York Rites Bodies and a member of the Odd Fellows.

Sib is survived by: his wife, Waltraud "Wally" Sibley of Mountain Home; stepdaughter Barbara Coiteux of Ontario, Ore., and stepson Gary Butler of Mountain Home.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Grace, and his brother, Al.
