Ida F. Everett, 95, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at a local care center.

A memorial service was held Monday, April 21, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. A private family inurnment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.

Ida was born on June 24, 1912, in Aurora, Utah, the daughter of Benjamin and Clara (Fisher) Watson. At the age of two her family moved to Hollister, Idaho, and then at age 15 the family moved to Mountain Home to work with sheep and cattle and to farm. Ida graduated from Mountain Home High School.

She was a waitress in her younger years until she married James P. Everett. Together they had two children, a son, Jim, who died in 1961, serving in the US Navy, and a son, Ken. After their marriage Ida devoted her life to raising her two sons. She was very involved in PTA and she was a room mother.

"Family was very important to Ida," her family said. "She loved her granddaughters and her great-granddaughter."

Ida was a poll registrar for years. She also was active in Eastern Star and the Elks Auxiliary.

Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and pinochle. She also loved canning chokecherries and vegetables from the garden.

Ida is survived by: her son, Ken, and his wife, Arlene Everett, of Mountain Home; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; her brother, Stan Fisher, and a sister in-law, Esther Fisher both of Mountain Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her son, Jim, her brother, Ray, and her sisters, Leah and Tressie.
