Robert Stanley Gayhart, 60, died March 14, 2008 after a battle with cancer.

Graveside services were held March 18 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

Bob lived in Hammett with his wife of 38 years, Jeanette, and co-owned and operated Bob Gayhart Heating LLC, as well as raising Gaited Spotted Saddle Horses.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1947, in Wellsville, N.Y., and lived with his parents, Adelbert J. and Myrtle Edith Gayhart, and his brothers, Edward and Adelbert, Jr., and his sister, Marie, just outside of Andover, N.Y., on the family's dairy farm.

Bob loved to explore the woods of his outside boyhood home, hunting for woodchucks with his old dog, Ring, and riding the neighbor's horses, his family said.

After graduating from Andover High School, Bob joined the Air Force. He served as a weapons loader and mechanic during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in January 1970.

Bob met his wife, Jeanette Fern Davis, in April 1969 in Julia Davis Park and they were married on Dec. 6, 1969. They had three children together, Gina, Jamie and Jody.

"Bob loved the Lord Jesus Christ and came to faith in Him on Dec. 12, 1976 and enjoyed the loving warm fellowship of River Christian Fellowship in Twin Falls, Idaho, for the last three and a half years," his family said. "He was also an avid horse lover and a devoted husband and father."

He is survived by: his wife, Jeanette, of Hammett; son Jamie and daughter-in-law Amber Gayhart of Mountain Home; daughters Gina McCarthy of Las Vegas and Jody Gayhart of Moscow, Idaho; sister Marie Yang of Panama City, Fla.; brothers Edward L. Gayhart of Bowie, Md., and Adelbert Gayhart Jr., of Alfred, N.Y.; and two grandsons.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Bob's life to River Christian Fellowship, 4002 N. 3300 E., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301, for the CSN International Radio ministry.
