Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

Juan was born on May 15, 1934, in Riviera, Texas, the son of Antonio and Rosenda Garcia. Juan had a short education because he had to quit school to help his father drive a tractor on the farm.

Juan married Amelia on July 3, 1955, in Kingsville, Texas. Together they had three children. Juan and the family lived in El Paso, Texas, for seven years while he was stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Wolfforth, Texas. During that time Juan received a plaque for Airman of the Month and a new car to drive for a month. Juan and Amelia had their picture taken and put in the newspaper.

Juan's hobby was that he loved to go to the golf course driving range and hit a bucket of balls. He participated in several golf tournaments and even won a few.
