Clarence and Ada McCune

Clarence and Ada McCune celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 2, 2007.

They were married in Denver, Colo., in 1947, and have been residents of Mountain Home since 1955.

While in Mountain Home, Clarence worked as a self-employed barber for many years and then went to work full time for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in 1984.

Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, Ada worked for Farmer's Insurance, the Elmore County Extension Agent and Northwest Natural Gas Company.

Clarence and Ada spent their childhood growing up in Oklahoma. Following his discharge from the Army, Clarence met Ada and the two were married. They said they find great joy in being with their family, which includes their children, three grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

Clarence and Ada's three children, Vicky (McCune) and Rik Simmonds of Vancouver, Wash., Brenda Barton of Boise, and Kelly McCune of Bainbridge Island, Wash., hosted a family dinner in the couple's honor in Boise on Dec. 22.
