Jeanne R. Kenison, 82, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at a Boise hospital.

A viewing will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Internment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Jeanne was born in Florence, Colo., on Sept. 24, 1925, to Walter and Gretchen (Roler) Bonney. The family, which included a surviving sister, Cecile Peterson, and brother, Lyman Bonney, later moved to Emmett.

Jeanne spent most of her childhood in Emmett and later attended Boise High School. Jeanne continued her education in Spokane attending airplane mechanics school and later went to work at Gowen Field during WWII. "She was very proud of her opportunity to take an active part in the country's war efforts," her family said.

In later years she worked in Boise and Mountain Home as a waitress.

Jeanne and her husband, Dean Kenison, raised a bountiful vegetable garden every year that was shared with family and friends, her family said, adding that "she loved jitterbug dancing, canning, cooking and making homemade bread for her family. Many joyful memories were created around the dinner table. Her grandchildren often teased that they would always remember her for her cheese rolls.

"Jeanne had a strong and loving spirit and her family and friends will miss her greatly," they said.

Jeannie is survived by: her daughters, Dellajeanne Matthews of Boise, Connie Riggins of Boise, Bonnie and her husband, Mark Corder, of Kuna; her son, Larry Crawford of Kuna; her stepchildren, Marie, Chuck, Carol, Albert, Karen, Arlene, Kim, LeeAnne and Richard Kenison, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchidren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, and her daughter, Elaine Hunt.
