Bess and Jim McCluer.

Jim and Bess McCluer celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary on June 11, 2007.

Originally from Kansas and Texas, respectively, they traveled the world with the United States Air Force and settled in Mountain Home when Jim retired in 1979 after two tours stationed here. He then also later retired from the Idaho Department of Corrections.

Bess has worked for the City of Mountain Home, on Mountain Home AFB, and as a private secretary locally.

Retirement is not really in their vocabulary and the couple continue to be active in many community and civic organizations.

Their daughter and son-in-law, who live in Mountain Home, will be hosting a celebration at the Mountain Home Elks Lodge on Saturday, June 16, from 3-6 p.m. They have with five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
