Burton N. Marsh, 67, of Houston, Texas, died in Boise at a local care center on Dec. 26, 2006, from natural causes following a stroke earlier in the year.

A graveside service was held on Friday Jan. 5, at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.

He was a retired professional and surveyor working mostly in Texas and Louisiana.

"He will missed by his many friends and family members because he was a gregarious and friendly person and a devout Master Mason," his family said.

He was married for 37 years to Kathy Phelps Marsh, who preceded him in death in 1999.

Marsh was a lifelong Texan, although he lived briefly in the Mountain Home and Boise areas.He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Schmidt and her husband Gen. (ret.) Mark Schmidt of Boise, and Leticia Holt of Fort Worth, Texas; sons Burton N. Marsh, Jr., of Houston, Texas, Tracy Drew Marsh of El Paso, Texas; brothers Ronald Marsh of Fort Worth, Texas, Drew Jewett Marsh of Louisiana; sisters Betty Newberry of Houston, Texas, and Wilma Smith of Waco, Texas.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Kathy, and one sister.
