John Theron Allred, 86, of Mountain Home, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at a local hospital.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Aug. 4, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery.

John was born Feb. 26, 1920, in Huntington, Utah, the son of John and Cora Allred.

He joined the Army and served in the Pacific Campaign.

He married Phyllis Keele and their union brought eight children.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horse races, keno, poker and visiting with his family. He loved working with his hands and was a carpenter by trade.

John and his family lived in Utah, California and the last 30 years in Idaho.

John is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Allred, of Mountain Home; daughter Jackie and her husband, Bob Payne, of Mountain Home, daughter Carma and her husband, Randy Werschky, of Mountain Home, daughter Marjorie McCance of California, son John and his wife, Betty Allred, Jr., of Arkansas, daughter Delayna and her husband, Dave Ellis, of Washington, daughter Anita and her husband, Barney Stokes, of Mountain Home, 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by two daughters, one sister, one granddaughter, and two son in-laws.
