Albin Bockelmann, 87, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, March 2, 2006.

Memorial services will be held in July at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa.

Albin was born on Feb. 2, 1919, in Ute, Iowa, to William and Emma Bockelmann.

He married Ruth Irene Philo on August 18, 1940.

Albin began his career as a teacher and coach after receiving his bachelor's degree from Northern Iowa University. He then served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He retired from the Kellogg Company in Omaha, after 26 years as director of personnel and industrial relations.

Albin enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his accordion and harmonica, and was always ready for a game of golf, his family noted.

He is survived by: son Dan and his wife, Linda, of Leavenworth, Wash.; daughter Suzanne Van Zee and her husband, Lloyd, of Mountain Home; three granddaughters, one grandson, eight great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; brothers William Bockelmann of Corning, Iowa, Herman Bockelmann, of Mapleton, Iowa, and one sister, Arlene Kiepe, of Mapleton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Trinity Cathedral, 113 N. 18th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68102. or St. John's Lutheran Church, 104th Birch Ave., Charter Oak, Iowa 51439.
