Donald Rusler, 76

Donald Eugene Rusler, 76, of Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Moutain Home, died Sept. 1, 2004 in Tacoma, at his daughter Sharon's home.

Memorial services will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Wash., on Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m.

Rusler was born May 10, 1928, in Everett, Wash., to Beryl Lesile and John D. Rusler, the third of six children.

At age 17 he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served 10 years as a drummer, and earned his expert marksman rating.

At age 23 he married Gloria Cason on Nov. 18, 1951, in Camden, N.J., and the couple enjoyed shooting, enjoying the night life dancing, and fine foods.

After leaving the Marines he established a new career as a printer with the United States Air Force, taking his family with him all over the world.

After retiring from the Air Force in California he worked in civil service and owned his own print shop.

After he retired again, he and his wife traveled the nation in their motorhome.

Seventeen years ago they settled in Mountain Home.

He is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Rose, two grandchildren, an uncle to whom he was very close, Paul Lesile, all of Washington, and a brother, John Rusler of Meridian.
